Here is Grandma's Famous Lemon Cake Recipe.
1 package Yellow Cake Mix
1 package Lemon Jello (small)
3/4 cup water
4 eggs
3/4 cup oil
Mix the cake mix with the jello. Add water and beaten eggs, 2 at a time. Mix in oil. Bake cake at 350 for 45 min, or until done.
When cool, poke holes in the cake with a fork.
Glaze
In a pan bring 2 cups powdered sugar and the juice of 2 lemons to a boil. Add the zest of 1 lemon. Spoon onto cake.
Serve with whipped cream.
This was my favorite cake, and now my kids love it as well. Mine never tastes quite as good as Grandma's did. I think she had a magic baking pan. : )

I Must Be a Nut, by Douglas Matthews, c. early 1960's

The text reads [Untitled]:
I must be a nut;
I know I'm a nut!
Whenever I drop by
to visit this hut
the people who live
here have already cut.
I think that I am
in some kind of rut.
However, the macaroni
and green beans were
good.

I hope you'll take a moment to join us. Share a recipe and a memory about it. It would be especially nice if you have a document or image, to scan it and make it part of the blog.
